VCR Update: First Successful Verification of REDD Project in Chile

The VCR Climate Action Project has successfully completed its first verification.  With the actions taken to stop deforestation and conversion of these native forests, more than 350,000 tons of CO2 emissions are estimated to have been prevented from being released into the atmosphere. The project was presented at an unofficial side event at the United Nations’ Framework Convention on Climate Change in Warsaw, Poland organized by The Nature Conservancy and the Chilean Government’s National Forestry Service (CONAF).  Read more.
