TerraCarbon Helps The Nature Conservancy Register the First VCS Forest Projects on U.S. Private Lands

The Nature Conservancy announced that it has registered the first two Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) afforestation / reforestation projects on private lands in North America – the Tensas River Basin Project in Franklin Parish, Louisiana and the Bayou Bartholomew Project in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana.  The projects involve the conversion of 165 hectares of former agricultural lands and 58 hectares of former pasture lands to native bottomland hardwood forest.  TerraCarbon provided project design and validation support services to The Nature Conservancy on both projects which are also the first ones registered by The Nature Conservancy under the VCS.
