TerraCarbon Recertified as a Certified B Corporation

TerraCarbon LLC® is proud to announce its recertification as a Certified B Corporation.  TerraCarbon was first certified in 2012 by B Lab, the non-profit organization behind the B Corp Certification.

As a Certified B Corporation, TerraCarbon completed and successfully passed a comprehensive assessment of its impacts on stakeholders.  The assessment looked at TerraCarbon’s governance, workers, community, and environmental practices and impacts.  In addition, TerraCarbon has adopted language in its corporate governing documents that requires it to consider the impacts on all stakeholders when taking decisions.

Today, there are more than 1,000 Certified B Corps from more than 30 countries.  “We’re proud and energized to be a B Corp and part of the global movement to use business solve social and environmental problems” said Scott Settelmyer, co-founder and Managing Director of TerraCarbon. “At TerraCarbon, we’re using the power of business to develop business and market-based solutions for conservation that help address climate change, improve the availability and quality of freshwater, protect biodiversity, and alleviate poverty,” Mr. Settelmyer says.

Since its founding, TerraCarbon has helped develop more than 20 carbon market-based forest restoration and protection projects for its clients that are conserving 1.6 million hectares of forest and have already generated more than 10 million tons of GHG emission reductions.
