TerraCarbon is pleased to announce it has become a Certified B Corporation joining a growing group of over 580 companies from 60 industries. B Corporations are a new kind of company which uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. TerraCarbon went through a rigorous certification process that included an impact assessment to demonstrate it meets higher standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability, and adopted the B Corp legal framework which legally requires it to consider the impact of its decisions on their employees, suppliers, community, consumers, and environment.
“We joined the B Corporation community because it provides us a way to measure and improve our social and environmental impact, ” said Scott Settelmyer, Co-founder and Managing Director of TerraCarbon.“ “Importantly, we also hope to show that our business has a higher purpose than simply profit, and that is contributing to the protection and restoration of the world’s forest and critical ecosystems for the benefit of the world’s climate, wildlife, and people.”
