TerraCarbon Recertified as Certified B Corporation

TerraCarbon LLC® is proud to announce its second recertification as a Certified B Corporation.  TerraCarbon was certified in 2012 and recertified for the first time in 2014 by B Lab, the non-profit organization behind the B Corp Certification.

As a Certified B Corporation, TerraCarbon completed and successfully passed a comprehensive assessment of its impacts on stakeholders.  The assessment looked at TerraCarbon’s governance, workers, community, and environmental practices and impacts.  In addition, TerraCarbon has adopted language in its corporate governing documents that requires it to consider the impacts on all stakeholders when taking decisions.

Today, there are more than 1,800 Certified B Corps from 50 countries.  “We’re proud to be a B Corp and part of the global movement to use business solve social and environmental problems” said Scott Settelmyer, co-founder and Managing Director of TerraCarbon. “At TerraCarbon, we’re using the power of business to develop market-based solutions for conservation that help address climate change, improve water quality, protect biodiversity, and alleviate poverty,” Mr. Settelmyer says.

Since its founding, TerraCarbon has helped develop more than 25 carbon market-based forest and wetland projects for its clients that are conserving 1.9 million hectares of forest and have already generated more than 11 million tons of GHG emission reductions.
