Upper Ouachita NWR Reforestation Project Receives CCBA Gold

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), TerraCarbon LLC, and The Conservation Fund’s Go Zero® program  announced today that a 2,600-acre reforestation project at Upper Ouachita National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) was awarded gold level validation under the Climate, Community and Biodiversity (CCB) Standards.  The Go Zero program works with companies and individuals to reduce and offset greenhouse gas emissions by planting native trees in protected parks and wildlife refuges nationwide. TerraCarbon provided planting services and assistance in the carbon accounting design of the project that was validated.  The project at Upper Ouachita NWR is Go Zero’s fifth and largest project to receive gold level status under the CCB Standards.  Read the press releaseRead related news story.
